As I celebrate the 3rd year of my relationship with the man I aspire to spend the rest of my life with, I take a look back on our history together.

I know that we wanted to be together before we actually started going out. I remember how great our first kiss was.

Jacob was my first kiss.

Jacob is probably one of the best God has put out. He definitely broke the mold with this one.

When you stay in a committed monogamous relationship certain things become unimportant while others become essential. You learn what keeps a relationship staying strong and how hard your love can be tested. You learn that trust is one of the most important things.

You learn that if he stuck by you when your psychotic parents went berserk on you and your man, then he'll essentially stick by you no matter what.
I've been to hell and back with this boy and sometimes I wonder if I would have been able to get back from it without him by my side.

You learn how much you love someone when they aren't around. You learn that, no matter how many miles apart you are, it's easy to be true when your love is true.

and most importantly...

After three years...

You learn what love truly is.
